There are so much evidence supporting the prohibition of Picture-making in Islaam yet many Muslims still don’t take heed. . . An authentic hadith in Bukhari and Muslim where the Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم mentions that it has been threatened with the most severest in punishment on judgement day. . . Scholars teach us that Pictures of living (humans and animals) are unlawful except for necessity. Examples of necessity include identity photos, passport photos, or photos of criminals for the purpose of identification and then arrest when they commit a crime or attempt to flee. . . Same acronym, different lesson... . . We all have our own boundaries to protect as well as respecting others. In no way shape or form are you or your child obliged to sacrifice these boundaries in order to make someone else happy. . . For example, if your child doesn’t want to greet someone with a hug then do not force them. They are simply practicing their boundaries. Allow them to freely express their needs in a safe and relaxed environment. They may not feel comfortable for a valid reason and they need to be respected even by other close family members. . . Perhaps they may just need time to adjust or simply just dont want to hug. Period. They dont need to be everyone’s best friend and so expect different levels of closeness with different people. . . This goes the same for the other categories; Islamic, Emotional and Social. . . We are taught to be careful who we take Islamic knowledge from. We don’t just allow anyone into our lives just because they want a space. This starts from early ages. . . We must have boundaries in place for our own dignity, safety and respect! . .
